  • Weight: 2.6 pounds
  • Battery: Battery lasts for a whopping 3.5 hours
  • Definition: Resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels and LCD TV
  • Antennas: Comes with 1 antenna
  • Size: 10.1" TV
  • Overall satisfaction: Overall user satisfaction is very good

Pros

  • Great picture quality
  • Only needs around 35 mins of charging
  • Unbelievable battery life
  • Battery is also replaceable
  • Can be wall mounted
  • Has an HDMI port to enable roku, apple tv, chromecast, amazon firestick, slingbox, Xbox, PS4...
  • ATSC and NTSC tuner
  • Can be plugged to home port or car cigarette lighter port

Cons

  • You should get an antenna for it for best connectivity quality
  • Installing the stand is a bit of a challenge

Description:

So aside from this Battery operated TV having around 3.5 hours of battery lifetime.

It has a number of impressive qualities.

It only needs around 35 minutes to charge its battery which is half the time of the other TVs in the list.

Of course this is when you charge it at home with full power.

Nevertheless, you can connect it to your cigarette lighter port in your car which is very convenient when going for long journeys or camping.b

Also, considering it is an LCD TV it has very clear images and video quality.

It has the ability to be wall mounted without a hassle, unlike the other devices.

One of the best features is that it has an HDMI port.

With an HDMI port you can watch many different streaming apps by connecting it to a device, and it will show it in HD.

You can connect it to your Laptop, your Playstation, Xbox and much more.

It Naturally has all the Main ports you will need and a nice Audio Jack to connect your headphones in.

With both an ATSC and NTSC tuner you should be able to connect to broadband over the air for different channels through your antenna .

Keep in mind!

It is suggested that you get a better antenna if you are looking for a lot of channels and you are far away from any TV tower.

(This is the case with all battery powered TVs).

So who is this for?

In a nutshell, this TV is for you if you are:

  1. Looking for a strong battery to last you in critical times.
  2. Want a cheap TV for your kids to play on.
  3. Want a TV to go on long car journeys.
  4. You move a lot and want to have a portable TV with you.

2.Trexonic Ultra Lightweight Rechargeable 12" LED TV

Highest resolution

As for the Trexonic LED TV, This is one of the only battery operated TVs that has an amazing high quality LED monitor at the same time.

  • Weight: 2.5 pounds
  • Battery: Almost 3 hours of battery life
  • Definition: LED TV with 1280 x 800 pixels
  • Antennas: 1 antenna with digital tuner
  • Size: 12" TV
  • Overall satisfaction: Overall user satisfaction is very good

Pros

  • Great picture thanks to LED
  • HDMI port
  • With a detachable Telescope antenna
  • Comes with a wall charger
  • Can be charged in car
  • 1 year warranty

Cons

  • Car charger cable not expensive
  • 1 to 2 hours battery

Description:

For the Trexonic TV, the first thing that comes into my mind is visual quality. This TV being an LED TV, should be future proof for many years to come for quality in your videos.

Not only does it provide awesome imaging, but has quite a nice antenna.

It helps catch local channels and be entertained without needing any digital storage on the device (which you can also do).

The rechargeable battery life isn't the longest, it should last around 1 to 2 hours.

This is because LED TVs require more energy in general.

Nonetheless you can easily charge it at home or in your car .

With the HDMI port you can easily connect to different devices as well.

It can be used for gaming and for streaming different content.

Through USB ports and the SSD card inside you can store content too.

The TV has speakers which are medium quality, and a headphone Jack, which has pretty good quality.

A great feature that comes with this TV is the 1 year warranty.

So, no need to worry about any weird malfunctions happening.

Who is this TV for?

If you are someone who is looking for a TV that has high quality streaming whilst still having a reasonable battery life.

Then this TV should do the job.

You will be able to stream lots of content, chill in the car and watch some movies on long journeys.

Or even take it camping for a signature movie in the woods.

3.Tyler TTV706 10” Portable Widescreen 1080P LCD TV

Best overall

When searching for the best battery operated portable TV. The Tyler 10" was what I ended up with. It has overall amazing specs and can suite any of your needs.

  • Weight: 1.5 pounds
  • Battery: 3 hours battery life
  • Definition: LCD tv with 1024 x 600 pixels
  • Antennas: Comes with 3 antennas
  • Size: 10" TV
  • Overall satisfaction: Overall user satisfaction is very good

Pros

  • Amazons choice and great reviews
  • Dual speaker
  • Good picture quality
  • Multiple antennas to help picture
  • Multiple stand options
  • Good battery

Cons

  • No HDMI
  • No warranty

Description:

The Tyler has many many good characteristics.

First of all its lithium rechargeable battery lasts around 3 hours which is awesome! Especially for a 10 inch TV.

Second, the TV comes with 3 antennas. 3!!! I was very surprised.

But, apparently each antenna has a use, and you can change based on your needs.

The third great thing about this battery operated TV is the fact that it has a Dual speaker built-in to it. It provides nice sound quality.

And you can also plug in headphones instead.

The final thing about the TV is, even though all of it's specs are higher than other TVs, it doesn't come at a greater price.

Keep in mind:

Since this TV has no HDMI Ports, it means it will be hard to connect the TV to other devices, unless you get an RCA to HDMI converter (It's not too expensive).

But, doing this will prevent them from streaming in full HD.

Here is an example on Amazon.

Who is this for?

If you are OK with not having a HDMI port in your TV, and are more concerned about the antennas and connectivity to channels, then this is the baby you want.

Just saying.

It is Amazons choice with a very high satisfaction rate.

4.Milanix MX9 9" Portable Widescreen LCD TV

Best budget TV

This TV I found is a steal.

And I totally mean it. It is so cheap, I am not sure if the manufacturer was thinking properly when giving it a price.

  • Weight: 2.7 pounds
  • Battery: 2 to 3 hour lithium life battery
  • Definition: LCD TV with 800x480 pixels
  • Antennas: Comes with 2 antennas
  • Size: 9" TV
  • Overall satisfaction: Overall user satisfaction is good

Pros

  • Cheapest for the size and other sizes
  • Excellent sound
  • Good picture quality
  • 2 antennas
  • Has both a wall and car charger with it
  • Very good battery life

Cons

  • No HDMI
  • No warranty

Description:

When I found this TV I was confused.

Why?

Because it's price was cheaper than its smaller version, and cheaper than any other similar TV.

It has quite good quality in resolution and display.

Pretty much all the users were satisfied with the sound quality, and some were extra happy.

It can connect to headphones.

Great battery life of 2 to 3 hours, which is above average when compared to all the other TVs

And comes with 2 antennas to ensure you can get enough bandwidth.

As almost all of the TVs you get a wall charger and a car charger as well.

So you can take this TV out for a ride and climb some mountains with it.

Take note:

The only setback of this TV is that it doesn't have a HDMI port.

Who is this for?

This TV is easily my go to choice.

If you aren't someone interested in connecting your TV to other devices, then you will love it.

You can still connect to other devices again with a RCA to HDMI converter. But you will lose some quality by doing so.

All in all this TV gives you the best bang for your buck.

5.Pyle LTV1053 10 Inch Portable Widescreen TV

Most portable

The Pyle LTV1053 is the lightest TV I have ever seen. Of course it is still durable and has all the core TV functions.

  • Weight: 1.15 pounds
  • Battery: 2 to 3 hours battery life
  • Definition: LCD TV with 800 x 480 pixels
  • Antennas: 1 antenna
  • Size: 10" TV
  • Overall satisfaction: Overall user satisfaction is Great

Pros

  • Comes with both wall plug and car plug
  • 2 to 3 hours battery
  • Very light weight and portable
  • Dual stereo speakers and can plug in headphones
  • Pretty good picture
  • Very good reviews
  • Comes with antenna

Cons

  • No HDMI plug
  • No warranty
  • No RCA port for dvd player
  • You might want to get a better antenna for more stations

Description:

At 1.15 pounds this TV weighs less than your water bottle.

It is crazy light. So you can take it with you wherever you go.

Weather you're going camping, hiking, moving, driving in the car, or keeping it at home.

Moreover, its lithium battery lasts for 2 to 3 hours.

I don't understand how that's possible, but they did a magnificent job .

It even comes with dual stereo speakers, and has enough ports to connect to USB, Headphones, and a couple more.

The overall reviews of this product were very positive and users reported very high quality of picture and video.

But, although it comes with an antenna, it is suggested to get a better one if you are looking to reach far bandwidths.

Who is this for?

This is designed for people who are always on the move.

People who are motivated and ready to go to many journeys, climbing, hiking and camping.

And after all that moving you are surely going to be ready to relax and just watch some nice content.

However if you are still not sure, and need a little more knowledge, feel free to check my short guide below.

Things to know about your battery operated TV

What to know

How to buy the right battery operated TV?

First of all, to know exactly what it is you want in your TV when you are making your choice, you should look at the following components:

1.What Size should my battery operated TV be?

The size of your battery powered TV is going to depend largely on where you want to place it, how many people are going to watch it together, and how often you are planning on moving it.

A single person viewing the TV wont need too much size to be able to enjoy it.

However if a group of people are planning to watch then maybe a 10", 12″, 14″, or larger screen could be a little bit better.

For example going from a 9" TV to a 12" will give around a 35% increase in the viewing area.

2. Are you looking for portability in your battery operated TV? or just effectiveness?

If the reason you are buying the battery operated TV is because you live in places with lots of electrical blackouts.

And you want to still be able to watch some TV content during the time, weather it's to check the news or to enjoy your time.

Then you should focus most on the Battery life of the TV and the bandwidth of the TV and antenna.

I would suggest you get a special antenna in this case to increase your bandwidth and to get more channels.

3.What resolution do I need for my battery operated TV?

When looking at resolution you should focus on the number of pixels and the type of TV.

1.Pixels:

Pixels are the number of dots horizontally and vertically placed in a screen.

each dot can be either red/green/blue.

Generally speaking.

For TVs under around 20 inches, each Size has a certain number of pixels.

Once you get to the big sizes, you can see 4K and 8K resolution.

As for battery powered TVs, you don't have to worry about pixels too much because all TVs are standardized.

2.Type of Battery operated TV:

As for the TV type, There are Mainly 3 types

LCD,LED and OLED.

LCD is slowly getting replaced with LED screens, as LED screens provide better colors and better contrast of colors.

For TVs that are on the small end, LCD is still the standard.

It was not easy finding Option2. (LED option).

OLED is the best and gives super HD and gives billions of colors.

You wont find OLED battery powered TVs. They would be too expensive.

4.Where can I charge my battery operated TV? what connections does it have?

The last important thing to take note on is the charging methods and ports.

1. Charging methods for all battery operated TVs:

All TVs in the list are chargeable through connecting the TV to your wall electricity port. Which will provide the TV with 100 to 120 volts depending on the TV.

The second option in all of these TVs is the ability to charge it in the Car using the cigarette lighter port. This port will provide the TV with 12 volts of electricity.

12 volts is enough to slowly charge the battery to keep it alive, but it might take some time to charge the TV with this port.

2. Other ports that you might want in your battery operated TV:
Showing the ports needed in a a Portable battery powered TV
  • Save

The most important ports that you should be looking for in your battery powered portable TV are:

  1. HDMI: Gives you the ability to connect to other devices and stream content at high definition, whether it is for Roku, connecting to Laptop, PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon fire stick or others.
  2. AV port: AV port enables you to connect your DVD player to your TV to be able to play any movies you want from your DVD player to your TV.
  3. USB: with a USB port you can connect a variety of devices or a USB which has data on it and then play that data.
  4. SSD Cards: are internal memory storage that you can fill up with different types of content.

All of the battery operated TVs in the list have all important connections and ports that you will need.

Except for HDMI, some TVs don't have HDMI in the list.

So think if HDMI is important to you or not.

Frequent Questions:

1. Can a TV run on 12v?

Yes, Some TVs are compatible with running at 12v (Car cigarette lighter ports)

Especially TVs with rechargeable batteries.

Keep in mind, if the TV isn't already compatible it is still possible to run a TV on 12v.

But, then you would have to play around with the power supply to make it 12 v compatible which is not recommended.

2. What is a built in digital tuner on a TV?

A digital tuner is what lets your TV acquire digital television (DTV) signals which broadband by the TV stations.

If you are using Cable for your TV then this isn't an issue.

However, when using an antenna then a digital tuner could be important to have on your TV.

3. Do I need an antenna if my TV has a built in digital tuner?

All over-the-air TV broadcasts in many countries are now digital. So yes,

To watch TV over-the-air you need both an antenna and either a built-in digital tuner or an external digital converter box which you attach to the TV.

Thank you for reading through this guide. If it helped you feel free to recommend it to someone you know who needs a battery operated TV.
